You Need to Visit This Cafe in Beirut

Welcome to the 20th issue of Travel Onist! Thank you all for reading along (and putting up with me every Friday). It’s awesome to see more of you week by week. Please keep the responses coming! It’s great to hear from each of you.

Enough about me. Let’s get to what you came here for…the crème de la crème of travel recommendations.

“I think your travels get better when you stop showcasing your journey to others and begin to live it, quietly and joyfully.”

- Rolf Potts

Here’s what’s on the itinerary today:

Stay in Ios, Greece

It’s been a while since I’ve featured a hostel, but we’re coming back with a bang!

This family-run hostel on the beautiful Greek Island of Ios, Francesco’s, has it all — top-notch location, staff, and facilities. I mean just look at that view!

This hostel has won numerous awards. You can check out their website or their page on HostelWorld to learn more, but you’ll have to call to inquire about reservations.

Eat, Drink, and Be Merry in Beirut, Lebanon

This one comes in from my lovely sister, Ali. Everyone, please thank Ali for the incredible Beirut recommendations that will be coming in over the next few weeks. 🤗

Here’s her glowing review of Beit Kanz — “The best Lebanese food I've ever had in my life. Small plates, definitely get a bunch to share for the table. Can’t go wrong with anything you order. There's even a cute little shop inside this location with home goods, kitchen wares, and some jams, spices, and teas!”

Experience in Victoria, Canada

Whale watching has been on my list for years and I was finally able to check it off!

It lived up to the hype. We saw 10+ Humpbacks, a Grey whale, and tons of seals and sea lions, which was honestly one of the coolest parts (and the smelliest). I would have loved to see some Orcas, but you can’t have it all when it comes to nature.

This area is one of the best in the world for whale watching. Wherever you decide to try to witness these beautiful creatures, please do a bit of research to ensure you utilize a reputable company that has the best interest of the environment in mind. Remember you’re in their home. 🤗

Carry On

Looking for the best way to utilize those points you’ve been sitting on? Roame is here to help as the “Google flights for using credit card points and miles.” With Roame, you can search for the best redemption offers across any flight your little heart desires. You will need to create a free account in order to use the search engine.

This is another great resource for those who are into the points game, especially those looking to make that game easier and less time-consuming.
