The Best Pizza and Cheesesteaks in the City of Brotherly Love

Happy Friday and welcome back to your source of international travel inspiration. How many of you are planning an upcoming trip? Let me know in the poll below. BONUS POINTS if any of these recommendations have inspired you to visit a new place đŸ€—.

Here’s what’s on tap today:

Stay in the Cotswolds

If you’re looking for a little R&R, let me introduce you to these cozy little cottages in the Cotswolds. This hotel offers a variety of accommodation options including rooms, suites, huts, and treehouses along with a luxurious seafood-inspired on-site restaurant. The 500-acre private estate has a smörgĂ„sbord of outdoor activities—from falconry to flying in their hovercraft. And for my pet lovers out there, it’s dog-friendly! 🐕 What’s not to love?

Eat, Drink, and Be Merry in Philadelphia

Having grown up right outside of Philly, cheesesteaks hold a very special place in my heart. While there are many excellent options to choose from—outside of Pat’s and Geno’s (the usual tourist traps)—only one stands above the rest as the best of the best. And that is Angelo’s.

This spot is known more for its pizza than anything, which is also the bomb.com. And let me tell you, they have that dough down to a science—between the pizza and the freshly baked rolls, Angelo’s does NOT miss.

If you’re new to the cheesesteak game, practice your order ahead of time
Philadelphians are not forgiving. “Whiz wit” is the authentic order (cheese whiz “wit” onions). But I prefer “American wit”. Whatever your preference, very few things beat simple done well.

Experience in Copenhagen

Leave it to Scandinavia to create something like this—a paradise for outdoor activities in the middle of the city. Copenhill offers skiing, snowboarding, sledding, run/hike training, and climbing. The facility also features a cafe, a restaurant, music, and your “classic” aprùs ski atmosphere all with gorgeous views of Copenhagen.

Oh, and this baby is versatile. All of this is built on top of a waste-to-energy plant, helping Copenhagen get closer to its goal of becoming the world’s first carbon-neutral capital.

Carry On

What to do for cellular data when traveling overseas? Well, I’ve recently learned of a nifty alternative. To avoid expensive roaming bills when traveling abroad and using data, just download the Airalo app and buy a local eSIM. In minutes, you will have data at an affordable price. I am planning to utilize Airalo throughout my trip to Switzerland and Italy!
